Content that may disturb
At the end of the film, the ship begins to sink, causing widespread chaos with fistfights, gun violence, and even suicide. Some of the strongest scenes where characters were unable to get on lifeboats include:
- People plunge to their deaths in icy waters, with some killed by falling debris.
- A deceased passenger is seen briefly holding their dead baby in the water.
- A character calmly tucks her children into bed, knowing they won’t survive.
- An older couple embraces in bed, accepting their fate together as water floods their room.
Earlier in the film a character stands on the back of the boat and threatens to jump into the water. They are talked into coming back over the ledge.
Violence
The film includes low level violence including a character chasing a couple with a gun, shooting at them, and when a woman is struck across the face by a man.
Sex scenes and nudity
The sex scene in Titanic is passionate but not overly explicit. Characters share an intense kiss before retreating to the backseat of a car. The scene focuses on their emotional connection and a hand pressing against the fogged-up car window. While sex is implied nothing is shown in detail.
A character poses nude for a young artist as he sketches her, with her bare breasts and buttocks visible.
Offensive language
The film contains some offensive languages, with words like “f*ck,” “sh*t,” “b*tch,” and “pussy.”
