Why did it get this rating?

This show was self-rated by Prime Video. You can find out more about self-rating by streaming providers here.

Graphic violence, horror, and cruelty

The series includes scary monsters, creatures, and dark magic. There are black hooded creatures with only mouths with sharp teeth on their face - this is can be quite creepy for some viewers.

There is a lot of hand-to-hand combat with swords, arrows, and fists. Characters are shown killing and being killed in lots of detail including slashing, stabbed and blood oozing from wounds.

One storyline focuses on a character being enslaved and tortured with magic. She is also kicked in the stomach, punched in the face, and then hung by her collar and is only let down when she passes out. These scenes are more drawn out compared to other fight scenes which might not sit right for people who don’t enjoy watching shows with violence.

Another character’s face is pushed onto a spike. The sound effects and close-up of his mouth and the spike coming out the back of his head is gruesome and shocking.

Suicide

A character drinks a magic tea that shows him his past lives. In each one, he’s a murderer, a suicide, or a suicidal murderer. Although this scene is very short and what the tea shows goes by very quickly it may be upsetting for those who have strong sensitivities to series and films that have mental health themes.

Sexual themes

Sex is implied in the series but nothing is shown in detail. One scene includes a man being tied to the bed but nothing further sexual is shown. Another scene implies that a character has sex with her two male companions but nothing is shown.
