What’s it about?

Why did it get this rating?
Horror
The out-to-sea setting and the killer sharks create a sense of threat and fear throughout. The killer sharks stalk the couple while they fight for survival in the elements. Older audiences will clearly spot unconvincing CGI effects and recognise the sharks as fake.
Violence
When the sharks attack, a lot of blood clouds the water and severed limbs rise to the surface. Some of the survivors' injuries are shown in close up graphic detail. Occasionally sharks are shown with limbs and bodies in their mouths. The bloody injury detail is likely to shock and disturb children and younger teens.
Offensive language
Offensive language such as f**k and m*therf**ker is used regularly for emphasis about the stressful situation. In context the language is understandable, but it is likely to be harmful for younger viewers.
