In 1970s Rio de Janeiro, during the Brazilian dictatorship, former deputy Rubens Paiva was taken by soldiers and never seen again. After 30 years of searching for answers, his wife Eunice begins showing signs of Alzheimer’s just as the truth emerges.

Violence

I'm Still Here contains some violence, including:

  • In a tunnel, a police blockade halts a car, and hostile officers force teenagers out to aggressively check their IDs. The brief but brutal encounter leaves a deep and lasting impact on them all.
  • A character is briefly waterboarded.
  • A character is slapped in the face by their mother.
  • A dog's body is found after being hit by a car.

Offensive language

This film includes the occasional use of the word "f**k".

Nudity

A woman’s bare breasts can be seen in the shower.
