What’s it about?
Chandu Champion is an uplifting biopic about Murlikant ‘Murli’ Petkar, who overcame numerous setbacks to become India’s first Olympic gold medal winner. Starting out in wrestling and then boxing, he becomes a Paralympic swimmer after a serious injury and goes on to become a national hero.

Why did it get this rating?
Chandu Champion is likely to appeal to a wide age range. The content is unlikely to harm younger viewers, however the violence and war imagery makes it more suitable for mature viewers.

Crime
The film touches on the terrorist attack that occurred at the 1972 Munich Olympics. We briefly see men break into an Olympic compound at night and take large guns from their bags. We hear gunshots but we don’t see anyone being hurt.
Cruelty
Flashbacks show a young character being bullied. At one point they are pinned to the ground and is called a loser.
Violence
One scene shows men fighting with sticks. No one is hurt.
There are several boxing matches where competitors punch each other quite hard. Some competitors are knocked out and one suffers a badly swollen eye.
There is a scene of war violence. Planes drop bombs on an army camp and there are several explosions. Soldiers fire machine guns in self-defence. One character is hit at a far distance, and another character is shot but we don’t see any wound detail. Another character dies but we don’t see their injuries.
