Why did it get this rating?

This series was self-rated by Disney+. You can find out more about self-rating by streaming providers here.

Horror

The series is about witches and a very powerful witch trying to regain her power. Agatha is being hunted down by another group of witches called the Salem Seven and there are a lot of dark magic elements the group comes into conflict with, such as poison, hallucinations, demons and possession. While there is a lot of funny parts that might dampen the supernatural and dark magic elements, the series is likely to be scary for tamariki – especially for those who don’t like scary stuff.

Violence

The series features superhero-style violence, where characters may engage in battles, but no visible injuries occur. For example, someone might be thrown across a room, yelling in pain, but without any signs of harm or blood. A few jump scares are present, such as a person being hit by a car without suffering any injuries. In the first episode, a dead body is briefly shown, but only the bruising on the ankles is visible—the person's face remains unseen.

Coarse language

There is not much coarse language, however Agatha appears quite blunt and coarse in the first episode and at one point she says “eat my ass”.
